‘Tis the season for lists, so how about this one? At the end of each day, make a list on the left side of the page of all the things that didn’t go as well as you would’ve liked. Then, on the right side, list those things that turned out well. Get in the habit of doing this each day.
At the end of the week, month, and year you’ll see that the good dwarfs the bad. It’s so darn easy to dwell on the disappointments. The daily list technique reminds me of what’s going well in my life and career and to feel much better about myself in the process.
